THE IMPACT OF SOLID MINERALS RESOURCES ON

2019-2-27  This study investigated the impact of the solid minerals development on the performance of the Nigerian economy between 1981 – 2015, using the Ordinary Least Square (OLS), Co-integration and Granger Causality test. With the result from the findings, we can infer that owing to lack of diversification of the Nigerian economy from oil to non-oil, solid minerals export was found to have performed below expectation and thus brought in little into the economy. Similarly, result obtained from the causality tests indicated that there exists a one-way causality from solid minerals resources to economic growth in Nigeria.
